Church Services Bless Us

  1. When they meet our real need
    1. How did Jesus show the Pharisees that the ceremonial laws were meant to be a blessing?
    2. What is our real need and how alone is it met?
  2. When they honor our true Lord
    1. How do we honor Jesus as our Lord?

Council Notes:

The council meeting of June 8 opened with prayer and a Bible study on Acts 1.

Under old business some options for the parsonage windows were shared. We are also looking for information on how the scholarship fund was set up to be distrubuted.

The pastor's and treasurer's reports are available in the narthex. The General Fund ended May at $1,375.44, down from $2,184.52 at the beginning of the month. $4,526.25 had been sent in toward our $10,000 WELS mission goal. The elders are having training meetings.

The trustees had a bid of $400 for labor for painting the exterior of the church. The bid was accepted. Barry Nelson will look into how to repair the baseline exterior plaster that's crumbling. The trustees will take steps to paint the exterior sacristy door and repair its weather stripping. They will also arrange for pulling the shrubs in the front of church.

The council approved spending up to $50 for a sign to serve for the parade and fair booth.

The quarterly meeting is July 12 after church. Next council meeting is August 10 at 8:00pm.
