The First Sunday after the Epiphany
January 10, 2010
Then let your Word within me
Shine as the fairest star;
Keep sin and all false doctrine
Forever from me far.
Help me confess you truly
And with all Christendom
Here hail you King and Savior
And in the world to come. (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 94:5)
Worship Focus: Anointed by the Spirit
Order of Worship: Gathering Rite on Holy Baptism
Hymns: 89, 297, 94
First Lesson: 1 Samuel 16:1-13
As David was anointed with oil, so our Savior was anointed with the Holy Spirit showing that he is the King of kings, great David's greater Son.
