The Second Sunday of Easter

April 11, 2010

Prayer:

Lord, by the stripes which wounded you,

From death's sting free your servants, too,

That we may live and sing to you.

Alleluia! (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 148:5)

The Second Sunday of Easter

April 11, 2010

Worship Focus: He's risen! Believe it. Share it.

Order of Service

We'll be watching the 30-minute video Road to Emmaus. Please consider sitting closer to the front on the lectern side. You'll be able to enjoy the video better.

Hymn Sing

P: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

C: Amen.

Confession of Sins: See insert

C: Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, here my voice. Let your ear be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness so that you are feared. I wait for the Lord. My soul waits, and in his word I have hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning. Let God's people hope in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy and with him is full redemption. He shall ransom his people from all their sins. (Based on Psalm 130)

P: The risen Jesus said to his disciples, "Peace be with you! If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven." Therefore I say to each of you: You are forgiven. Be at peace with God. For the Father has raised Jesus from the dead. He has forgiven you for Jesus' sake. In Christ, God reconciled the world to himself, so that you may have the peace of forgiveness and the joy of salvation.
