The Fourth Sunday of Easter

April 25, 2010

Prayer:

Jesus, shepherd of the sheep,

Who your Father's flock does keep,

Safe we wake and safe we sleep,

Guarded still by you.

By your blood our souls were bought;

By your life salvation wrought;

By your light our feet are taught,

Lord, to follow you. (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 436:1,3)

God's Word

First Lesson: Acts 13:15, 16, 26-33

On his missionary journeys the Apostle Paul spread the Good News. He testified about Jesus' death and resurrection in our place. That's the Good News that brings us into Jesus' flock and keeps us safe in his hands.

Psalm 23, p. 72

The Lord is my Shepherd.

Second Lesson: Revelation 7:9-17

We glimpse the glory of heaven that our Good Shepherd has won for us through his blood that washes us clean so that we stand before him in white robes.

Gospel: John 10:22-30

Hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow him. For he knows his sheep and keeps them safe in his hands.

John 10:22-30

Christ's Answer to Unbelief

Thank you: Our thanks to our Savior for feeding us with his word through Pastor Main's message today. And our thanks to Pastor Main for sharing God's Word with us.

Ladies' Society Notes: The Ladies' Society met on Wednesday, April 21 at Verree Fox's apartment. Four ladies were in attendance. We opened with prayer and a Bible study on the 5th Commandment. Some of the items discussed were what to do with the left over sandwich meat from the Lenten suppers, the banners from Ray Meichsner's memorial, and the Christian service guidelines. The next meeting will be May 12 at 2:00pm at Norma Osterman's at the West Central Homes in the Blue Room.

WELS Delegate: We are looking for a voting member of the congregation to represent us at the MN District Convention, June 15-17 in New Ulm, MN. If you are interested or want more information, please talk to Pastor Bitter.
