Trinity Sunday

May 30, 2010

Triune God, oh, be our stay

And let us perish never!

Cleanse us from our sins, we pray,

And grant us life forever.

Keep us from the evil one;

Uphold our faith most holy;

Grant us to trust you solely

With humble hearts and lowly. (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 192)

These are the words of blessing handed down from the Lord to Moses to Aaron to us.

Psalm 150, p. 122

We praise the Triune God.

Second Lesson: Romans 5:1-5

Notice how the Triune God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- works so that we may rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

What belongs to the Father, belongs to Jesus. We cannot comprehend that divine relationship. But Jesus sends the Holy Spirit who speaks God's truth, so that we believe.

News & Notes

Vacation Bible School: Round up your friends and neighbors and bring them to the Circle J Ranch. Vacation Bible School this year will be from Tuesday, June 1, to Friday, June 4, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, for ages 3 to those entering 6th grade.

We're looking for ranch hands to help with teaching, music, crafts, and activities. Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex if you're available for one or more days.

If you'd like to whip up some grub for the children to snack on, there's a sign up sheet as well.

Finally, if anyone has a ranch-related idea or a demonstration they could share on one of the nights, please talk to Pastor.

Pictorial Directory: Lifetouch photographers will be here July 7 and 8 from 2:30-8:40pm. Each family that is photographed receives a complimentary directory and an 8x10 portrait, an approximately $50 value.

This service is provided to the church and the participating families at no cost. Your directory is paid for through the sale of additional professional portraits and greeting cards. While Lifetouch guarantees no pressure, it does want you to know that the photographer will be taking additional poses so that you can take advantage of the opportunity to purchase additional portraits and greeting cards. Your participation and purchases make it possible for you and the church to have complimentary family portraits and directories. Thanks for your consideration.
