The Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost
September 5, 2010
Send forth, O Lord, to every place
Swift messengers before your face,
The heralds of your wondrous grace,
Where you yourself will come. (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 572:1)
Worship Focus: We walk together so that the Gospel flies
Order of Worship: WELS Walking Together (insert)

Anniversary Celebration: St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran of Morris will be recognizing Pastor Donald Main's 25th anniversary in the ministry with a special 10:30am service on Sunday, September 12th. A noon meal will follow; all welcome.
Finances: At the end of July a letter went out to you informing our members of the financial hole we were digging for ourselves. Our Savior has moved your hearts to respond, as you can see from the financial report below. Thanks be to God.
Our Lord has blessed our members with the resources to continue his work at St. John's. We need to maintain our monthly giving at about $6000 to the General Fund and about $1400 for missions in order to end the year in the black and to meet our mission commitment of $10,000. If this is just a one month spike and monthly giving to the General Fund falls below $6000, we will soon find ourselves digging a hole again. So continue to keep your congregation and synod in your prayers and in your financial planning.
General Fund: Balance Aug 1 $-2544.93 (negative)
Aug Offerings + $8626.00
Aug Expenses - $5597.24
Balance Aug 31 $482.83 (positive)
Congregational Mission Offering: July $309; YTD $4262
Annual Commitment: $10,000; YTD Shortage $2405
