God's Word is for all ages, from the littlest baby to the eldest grandmother.
Flowers: The flowers today are in memory of Virgil Thielke (Delroy's brother and Eyvonne's brother-in-law) whom our Lord called home to heaven this past week. We pray that his words of promise bring comfort and hope to his family.
Sunday school: Anyone interested in teaching, substituting, or helping with Sunday school please sign up in the narthex.
Catechism class: Catechism for 6-8th graders will begin this Wednesday, September 15 4:00pm. 6th grade bring your Bible, a pencil/pen, and a highlighter. 7th and 8th grade bring your Catechism, Bible, a pencil/pen, and a highlighter. The class on September 15 will end at 5:00pm.
Anniversary Celebration: St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran of Morris will be recognizing Pastor Donald Main's 25th anniversary in the ministry with a special 10:30am service today. A noon meal will follow; all welcome.
Lutheran Women's Missionary Society: The Crow River Circuit of the LWMS will have their Fall Rally on Saturday, September 25 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Hutchinson. Opening devotion is at 11:00am and closing is at 3:00pm. The guest speaker is Liz Wessel. She was in Hong Kong with her husband, who served at the Asia Lutheran Seminary there.
All women of St. John's are members of LWMS. You're encouraged to attend the rally and bring a friend to share in the exciting work of missions.
The Crow River Circuit is also seeking volunteers who are willing to run for the Secretary position. If you would like more information, please contact Pastor Bitter or the LWMS Crow River President, Ardis Tobison (320-587-2758 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
LWMS Donation: The Ladies' Society is donating $25 to the Fall Rally offering on behalf of St. John's. If anyone would like to add to that amount, please give a check to Phyllis Joos as soon as possible. Make it out to the Ladies' Society and tell her its for the LWMS Rally.
