God's Word

First Lesson: Genesis 4:1-16

Just as faith shows itself in love, so also the unbelief of Cain show itself in hatred.

Psalm 66, p. 90

We praise our God for keeping us safe

Second Lesson: 1 Peter 3:15-22

When Jesus reigns in our hearts, we share his love with others, even if that brings suffering to us. For Jesus has saved us from the power of the devil. He has saved us through the water of baptism by the power of his resurrection.

Gospel: John 14:15_21

Love listens to Jesus and follows his commands. For we know that he has not abandoned us. Rather through faith we are his children who live because he lives.

Members of St. John's,

Thanks so much for the card and prayers while I was in the hospital. God is truly good and the prayers for my recovery were answered. We saw God's hand in many ways through this experience. Maybe someday we can share these things with you. I am now home and doing well. I have a difibrillator/pacemaker implanted and expect a full recovery. Thank you!

Yours in Christ, Howard Grafenstein
