News & Notes

VBS: Come to the “One-of-a-Kind” Zoo for Vacation Bible School. Invite you friends and neighbors. It's for all from the age of three to those entering 6th grade. The Zoo will be open from Monday, July 11, to Friday, July 15, from 10:00am to noon.

Rely for Life Luminarias: If you are planning to purchase a luminaria for the American Cancer Society's Rely for Life event on July 15, could the VBS children decorate it for you? We would like to encourage the children this year to think about helping others in Christian love. Decorating the luminarias would give an opportunity to think about those who suffer from cancer and other illnesses. So if you were going to purchase a luminaria anyway, we'd be happy to decorate it for you. For more information or to make arrangements, please contact Bridget Joos 392-7426.

Fair Booth: We want to see if we have enough volunteers for the fair booth this year. If you think you could help, please sign up on the sheet with a guess at the number of hours you could work. This is not a commitment to any specific day or time. We just want to see whose willing to help out. Sign up as soon as possible, so that we know we have enough help. If not, we may not have a booth this year. As the fair comes closer, we'll work out the specific times that fit your schedule.

Parade Float: We were thinking of incorporating our VBS theme into the parade float. If you would like to help out, please let Pastor Bitter know.

Ladies' Society: The Ladies' Society met on June 8, 2011, at 2:00pm with three members present. We continued the Bible study on the 2nd Articles looking at how Jesus is our Prophet, Priest, and King. In the meeting, there was much discussion about the cookbook. Recipes are still needed.

June ushers: Don Spencer (capt.), Jeff Flaten, Chuck Nelson, Evan Nelson, Kevin Zeltwanger
