First Lesson: Isaiah 61:1-3, 10, 11

Christ Jesus comes to bind up the brokenhearted and comfort all who mourn over their sins. He is the Christ, the Lord's Anointed. What good news he brings!

The Lord is our refuge, rock, and fortress. Shine out with his marvelous deeds.

Second Lesson: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24

Let your joy shine out as the God of peace sanctifies you and keeps you until the coming of Christ.

Gospel: John 1:6-8, 19-28

John testified as a witness to the Light. Jesus is the genuine Light, our true Light. He is the Christ.

Christmas Eve: On Christmas Eve, the Sunday school will present their program telling us how the Christmas tree reminds us of the truths of Christmas.

Christmas Schedule:

Dec. 24, Saturday, Christmas Eve, 6:30pm

Dec. 25, Sunday, Christmas Day, 10:00am (not 10:30)

Jan. 1, Sunday, New Year's Day, 10:30am

No Sunday school, Bible class, or youth group on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Financial Report: December started with a balance of $2,106.54 in the General Fund. $6,509.75 has been given toward our annual mission commitment. We need $1,490 in mission offerings for December to make our $8,000 commitment to the WELS.
