Pentecost 1: The Holy Trinity

June 3, 2012

Triune God, oh, be our stay And let us perish never! Cleanse us from our sins, we pray, And grant us life forever. Keep us from the evil one; Uphold our faith most holy; Grant us to trust you solely With humble hearts and lowly. Let us put God's armor on, With all true Christians running Our heav'nly race and shunning The devil's wiles and cunning. Amen, amen! This be done; So sing we, Alleluia! (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 192)

The Lord's Supper

At St. John’s we observe the biblical practice of “close communion.” Communing together is an outward sign of the inner closeness of faith that seeks to agree in all that the Bible teaches. Therefore, we ask that only those commune who are confirmed members of our church body and of those churches which have declared fellowship with the WELS. If you have further questions about this, please talk with the pastor.

Vacation Bible School: We've had our planning meeting for VBS. The theme this year is Team Jesus. The dates are July 23-27 from 10:00am to noon. How am I to live since Jesus has already saved me? The answer: “Run in such a way as to get the prize … Do it to get a crown that will last forever” (1 Corinthians 9:24, 25).

Summer schedule: Sunday service is at 9:00am. The same service is the following Wednesday at 7:00pm. Due to District Convention, there will be no Wednesday service on June 13.
