God's Word

First Lesson 2 Kings 19:14-19

Sennacherib lays siege to Jerusalem with the Assyrian army. They have already destroyed the northern kingdom. What chance does King Hezekiah and his small kingdom of Judah have against this world power? He takes it to the Lord in prayer, asking that God's name be glorified.

Psalm 33, page 79

Nations rise and fall, but God's plans stand forever.

Second Lesson 1 Timothy 2:1-6

Pray for wise leaders in the government so that we can live lives for God's glory.

Gospel Matthew 22:15-23

We give the government the taxes and honor due it in it's God-given position of authority. But above all, we give God what is God's.

1 Timothy 2:1-6

Pray for the Nations

  1. God wants all to be saved by faith in his truth
  2. God grants us earthly peace to spread his truth
