God's Word

First Lesson: Genesis 2:18-24

On the sixth day of creation, the Lord God created man and woman and brought them together in the first marriage, starting the first family. This account teaches us that marriage is God's gift to us and shows how he has established the family.

Psalm 139b, p. 117

Praise the Lord for he has made each one of us. Let us live according to his will.

Second Lesson: Hebrews 2:9-11

In order to bring us into God's family, Jesus became like us in every way, except he was without sin. As our Savior he tasted death for us, dying in our place to bring us his holiness.

Gospel: Mark 10:2-16

Jesus teaches us God's true design in marriage: one man and one woman in a life-long union. He welcomes the little children, for children are a blessing from God. He established marriage to provide children.

Genesis 2:18-24

Honor God's Gift of Marriage

Quarterly Meeting: The quarterly voters' meeting will be today after the service. Some items for business include moving the Thanksgiving Eve Service to start at 7:00pm instead of 7:30pm. We'll also discuss the Christmas schedule. If you have any opinions on these matters, please talk to a voter.

Landscaping: The landscaping in front of the church has begun. Some new bushes have been put in. Later this fall or next spring some perennials will be planted as well.
