Festival of the Holy Trinity

May 26, 2013

Triune God, oh, be our stay And let us perish never! Cleanse us from our sins, we pray, And grant us life forever. Keep us from the evil one; Uphold our faith most holy; Grant us to trust you solely With humble hearts and lowly. Let us put God's armor on, With all true Christians running Our heav'nly race and shunning The devil's wiles and cunning. Amen, amen! This be done; So sing we, Alleluia! (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 192)

News and Notes

Weeknight Service: If you would like to attend a weeknight service, St. Paul’s of Morris has Monday night services at 7:30pm starting next week, June 3.

Council Notes: The council met at 11:30am on May 19. After the opening prayer and the reading of the minutes, it was reported that the outdoor service with St. Paul’s is scheduled for July 28 at 10:30am.

Pastor Bitter reported that new membership classes were progressing; the Crow River Conference delegate meeting is June 11 at Rockford, MN; pastor and Bridget Joos will be planning VBS under the theme Armor of God (Ephesians 6); synod convention is July 29-Aug 1 and Pastor Bitter is a delegate this year.

The trustees reported that the floor tiling and roof re-shingling were finished. They are working on a light for the organ. Duane will look into a foam sealant for the flat roof to stop the leaking. It’s guessed that the cost will be between $2000 and $3000.

Under new business the council OKed Mary Bitter’s request to have a silent auction with craft articles left behind by her mother with the proceeds going to either the roof repairs or Ladies’ Society.

Next council meeting is June 9. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
