Order of Worship: Service of Word, p. 38

God's Word

First Lesson: 1 Kings 19:14-21

As we follow Jesus, we need not worry about the crises that rock this world. Jesus is in control and he takes care of his people.

Psalm 62, p. 88

Jesus alone is our rock and salvation. Trust him.

Second Lesson: Galatians 5:1, 13-25

When we follow Jesus, a spiritual struggle rages inside of us. Jesus has set us free from sins condemnation. But we are not to use this freedom to satisfy our sinful desires. Rather we produce the fruit of the Spirit as we follow Jesus.

Gospel: Luke 9:51-62

As we follow Jesus, we leave behind our earthly ways and our reliance on them. Instead we trust Jesus to take care of us.

1 Kings 19:14-18

Our Hope Is Confident
That Our Lord Reigns

  1. He governs the nations
  2. He preserves his people, his Church
