Order of Worship: Service of Word and Sacrament, p. 26

Hymns: 580, 410, 419, 452

God's Word

First Lesson: Genesis 18:20-32

Abraham knows that he is nothing but dust and ashes before the Lord God. But because of the Lord’s mercy, he calls out to him in persistent prayer.

Psalm 6, p. 66

Sin has earned each of us God’s anger. But he is merciful. He hears our cry and answers our prayers.

Gospel: Luke 11:1-13

Jesus teaches us about prayer.

Colossians 2:6-15

Keep Walking With Jesus

  1. Rooted in the blessings of your Baptism
  2. Built up to withstand the world’s deceptions

Prayer: We ask the Lord’s blessing on Jiana (Thielke) and Josh Robertsdahl, who were united in marriage yesterday.

The Lord's Supper

At St. John’s we observe the biblical practice of close communion. Communing together is an outward sign of the inner closeness of faith that seeks to agree on all that the Bible teaches. So we ask that only those commune who are confirmed members of churches which have declared fellowship with the WELS. If you have further questions, please talk with the pastor.
