First Lesson: Isaiah 40:1-8

Faith listens to the voice that speaks God’s Word. For he points us to our one and only Savior. God’s Word will not fail us.

Faith listens to what the Lord proclaims.

Second Lesson Romans 15:4-13

Faith learns the Scriptures and from them draws endurance and encouragement as our hope stays focused on Christ.

Gospel: Matthew 3:1-12

John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus as foretold by Isaiah. He calls us to repentance, which trusts Jesus for forgiveness and produces the fruits of faith as we live for him.
