Third Sunday after Epiphany

January 26, 2014

Worship Focus: Jesus reveals his love

Order of Worship: Service of Word, p. 38

Hymns: 351, 82, 492, 202 (LAPPY)

God's Word

First Lesson: Exodus 15:22-27

Israel had just seen the Lord’s love in action. Three days earlier he had rescued them from the Egyptians by parting the Red Sea. But rather than remembering his love, they complain about their condition. How quickly does our love grow cold when we fail to remember the Lord’s love toward us?

Psalm 145, p. 119

The Lord’s love still provides for us.

Second Lesson: Romans 12:6-16a

Use God’s gifts with love

Gospel: John 2:1-11

In love Jesus reaches out to help. His miracles make known not only his power but also his love.

Romans 12:6-16

Love Boils throughout God’s Gifts

  1. Love that’s energized with his grace
  2. Love that warms others
