Trinity Sunday

June 15, 2014

Prayer:

Triune God, oh, be our stay And let us perish never! Cleanse us from our sins we pray, And grant us life forever. Keep us from the evil one; Uphold our faith most holy; Grant us to trust you solely With humble hearts and lowly. Let us put God’s armor on, With all true Christians running Our heav’nly race and shunning The devil’s wiles and cunning. Amen, amen! This be done; So sing we, Alleluia! (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 192)

Lord’s Supper: At St. John’s we practice closed Communion, to which only congregational members are invited, in obedience to Scripture’s teaching that the Lord’s Supper is an expression of our complete unity in faith. This has been the historic practice of the Christian church for nearly 2,000 years. If you are our guest today, we respectfully ask that you speak with the pastor before approaching the altar for Communion.
