God's Word

First Lesson: Jeremiah 28:5-9

Glorify the Lord by listening to his truth instead of false teachings, no matter how appealing those false teachings may be.

Psalm 89, p. 98

Glorify the Lord by declaring the greatness of his faithful love.

Second Lesson: Romans 6:1-11

Glorify the Lord by the way you live, counting yourself dead to sin but alive in Christ.

Gospel: Matthew 10:34-42

Glorify the Lord by bearing your cross and following him.

1 Chronicles 17:16-27

David’s Prayer Marvels
at the Lord’s Promise

  1. “Who am I to receive such a promise”
  2. “How wonderfully you have redeemed your people”
  3. “Do as you promised, O Lord, so that you are glorified”
  4. “Your promise has given me the courage to pray”

1 Chronicles 17:18-27

Lord’s Supper: The Bible tells us that those who take Communion together are to:

1. Recognize that Christ’s true body and blood are
present in the Sacrament (1 Cor. 11:29),

2. Examine themselves (1 Cor. 11:28), and

3. Be united in faith with the congregation with
which they commune (1 Cor. 10:17).

For these reasons, it is our practice that only those who are members of our congregation or a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) join us for Holy Communion. If you are interested in learning more about becoming part of our fellowship, please speak to the pastor after the service.
