The Fourth Sunday in Lent

March 15, 2015

Prayer:

Lord, ‘tis not that I did choose you; That, I know, could never be, For this heart would still refuse you Had your grace not chosen me. You removed the sin that stained me, Cleansing me to be your own; For this purpose you ordained me, That I live for you alone. (Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal 380:1)

Recipes Needed: The ladies greatly appreciated the many recipes submitted, but more are still need. They would like at least one recipe from every member, so that all can be represented as part of the cookbook. Do you know former members or relatives of members who have passed away? Let them know we would be happy to include any family recipes from their time as St. John’s. We welcome any favorite recipe, but are especially low on appetizer and salad recipes.

If you have any family history or story to go with your recipes, please share it. Do have any helpful hints or quotes to include? We can use them as well. Any recipe, story, hint, or quote can be submitted to Karen Hoffman or placed in her bulletin box. The next meeting is planned for April 12 after church. All ladies are invited.

Installation: Immanuel of Hutchinson invites us to join them for the installation of their new pastor, Rev. Eugene DeVries, Today March 15, at 4:00pm.
