Lesson Acts 8:26-40

In Baptism, God promises that Jesus’ blood washes away our sins. Baptism gives us rebirth into God’s family. In the confirmation ceremony, the baptized child of God confesses faith in the promises God has made and in turn the confirmand promises to remain faithful to God.

Gospel John 15:1-8

Jesus is the Vine; we are the branches. If his word remains in our hearts, we stay connected to Jesus and produce much fruit as we serve him.

News and Notes

Lord’s Supper: In May the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated on the second Sunday (May 10) rather than on the first Sunday due to Confirmation.

Summer Camp: This year Camp Luther will be much closer to home for us. It will be held at Sibley State Park, near New London MN. It is open to all WELS students and their friends entering 5th through 9th grade next fall. The dates are June 27 to July 2. Information brochures and camper registrations are available in the narthex.

Cookbook News:

We have received many recipes, but are still collecting more. We also want any historical information that you may have regarding your families. It does not have to be long, but we would appreciate any stories that can be shared. Please submit the information to Karen Hoffman.

Anyone who is interested in purchasing cookbooks can also place their requests in Karen Hoffman's box.

Our next date has not been set, but we need helpers to help assemble the cookbook, and this meeting will take some time.
